Nobody will ever understand the Thai Visa system or what is necessary for anyone to stay long term to spend their money. It is a shame but it appears they like it that way. It is just a merry go around with people trying to scam you at every turn.
Indeed if you dont know how to choose people or company to help legally you...it s your fault! Stop blaming people trying to scam you...am here for 6 years I dealt directly with immigration, I never had any problem...I dont go to scam people to be cheated ๐. Good luck!
well maybe you could explain it to me as I have spent the last 6 weeks trying to make sense of it. The biggest issue is being told I can not have a bank account on a tourist Visa but can not get the Visa I want without a bank account. There is conflicting and contradictory information everywhere i go.
You can get a bank account on a tourist visa - what visa are you going for? Are you over 50 and going for retirement? Are you married to a Thai and going for dependent visa - on what basis are you attempting to stay?
You can open a bank account with any Visa. If a particular branch doesn't want to open an account for you go to another.

I have been doing Tourist visas for the past few years. Its not a great option but it seems to work for some.
Currently, however, nothing is available
I would recommend you are careful about the advice you get here, or anywhere for that matter. Visa rules are different for different nationalities. Also, especially in Thailand, rules are implemented differently given different situations. You can do exactly the same thing someone else does have have completely different results. Attitude, Nationality, Immigration Officer attitude, your attitude are all factors.
very true, there is no black and white approach when dealing with Thai immigration. The response you get varies from office to office and even from officer to officer. Until someone in power says "This is what is required and it is nationwide." dealing with immigration offices is still a crap shoot.

If you want to be fully legit you will need to set up a business and get an non b visa and work permit if that's not in your interest you can use one of the other options mention above.
Just remember non of the above make it legal to work in Thailand.
