Got a lot of helpful info from others here, so sharing my experience too:

Success! DTV (Soft Power - Medical) approved via Los Angeles consulate.

Submitted May 14:

• 3 months of bank statements (above the required amount)

• Cover letter explaining medical need + supporting docs:

• Doctor’s letter

• Past appointment slips

• 2 upcoming appointment confirmations

Timeline:

No updates until May 29 — then status changed to “pending approval,” and approved later that day.

Congrats! May I ask if your 2 appointments were in the span of 6+ months? I’m also planning on applying soft power medical and I’ve read the duration of treatment / appointments must be longer than 6 months for DTV

Anonymous participant 142 my two future appointments were both in the first week of July. However, the letter from my doctor stated that I needed to be seen every 3-6 months indefinitely for evaluation.

Anonymous participant 142 one of the keys to getting the DTV visa based on Medical reasons is the Thai Embassy or Consulate where you are applying for it.

Recent approvals seen posted are from the Thai Embassy or Consulates in the USA.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
