In my email inbox this morning. My DTV was approved. Flying back to Bangkok a week tomorrow. The sense of relief is palpable. The Thai Embassy in London is my new favourite. 300 pounds sterling for a 5 year visa. Yes and thank you so much. By the way does anyone know how to get the paper copy for the passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster shares their relief at receiving approval for their DTV visa and seeks advice on obtaining a physical copy for their passport. Community members suggest printing the emailed PDF version of the DTV visa and the importance of having it on hand for airline check-ins and Thai immigration. They also emphasize the need to confirm the immigration stamp upon arrival in Thailand.
Some people print and laminate the pdf file. Iβve seen posts from people with a full A4 print or ones printed passport size and laminated.
Itβs not technically necessary to have a printed version as the IO should be able to see on their system that you have a DTV but it just is a help to show you have one to get the right stamp.
ALWAYS check the stamp they give you. Mistakes happen, but the onus is on you to check.
You can print the copy they emailed you, but Iβve never been asked as soon as they scan your passport the DTV comes up, just make sure in Bangkok immigration stamp with the exit date on, as they have been known to forget.
Wrong exit date might be caused by not handing over the printed copy of the visa as in the guidelines. Even when they can see you have visa, that does not mean you should ignore guidelines and wait till IO ask for it. Just follow guidelines to make the job for IO more easy.
in addition to the Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival... your airline as well as connecting airlines could ask to see your Thai Visa. Having it printed out is a simple way to show it.
the guidelines are simple, just print it as asked, it nowhere says digitally on your phone is enough. E-visa means it is applied for electronic, that tells nothing about how you show the visa.
yeah bro I know that, but even with all that, in Thailand the cost for that visa type is more, at least last time I checked, maybe something change now.
But you have to show you have 500,000 THB equivalent in cash in a bank account to qualify for the DTV visa, plus have to prove if your a remote worker, evidence of your employer/s, payments into your bank account from your employer/s. To qualify for the DTV on the basis of soft power, you also have to show equivalent of 500,000 THB in your bank account. Proof of some sort of training, Muay Thai, cooking courses etc and the training business has to be registered with the Thai business Chamber of Commerce.

Thank You for your helpful report π
Congratulations πππ
PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.
That's what you should do... print it out.
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight βοΈ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
