What areas or clubs should be avoided during a first visit to Pattaya in April?

I liked the Beach in Pattaya , But it can be very crowded at times . I would also avoid the Public Toilets ...I went to one and it was Disgusting . I also stopped in Jomtien which was a bit less crowded /Frantic.

Stay off soi 8 . It’s full of duds

Most if you don't want STD or scammed

Also take a trip koh samet nice beaches quite surprising nice was there last week n I live here

I don't know about places to to avoid.

- walking street - full of bars and tourists, local expats go to soi bakhao

- Soi bakhao, bars and fewer tourists prices are a little less. Place is probably more wild than walking street.

- Beach road - day time. Its hot and the beach isn't that great. There are some activities. Its a little more interesting than a hotel room

- Beach road - night time. It's a freak show. Definitely worth a stroll for an hour

- Beach road - late night. It's a freak show but a different kind of freakshow. Definitely worth a stroll for an hour

- Beach road is pretty safe but I recommend not taking valuables. I read stories frequently of people getting robbed. Those people tend to wear flash jewelry making them easy prey. Other wise you are safe. There are some other beach road warnings, I leave to you to google

- Soi 6 - you should google it. Its Beach Road Soi 6. Again a freak-show but with the stroll.

- You can find whatever you need in Pattaya when you are in Pattaya.

Songkran in Pattaya lasts two weeks. I have never gotten an eye infection. I find songkran to be a blast. Its also pretty easy to avoid the festivities. You will likely get wet at some point but you don't have to 'play water' if you dont want to, just avoid the tourist area.

Koh Larn is a popular tourist destination. I have been there via private boat so I am sure what tour operators offer. The beaches are nicer. Again, I will leave that for you to google, but that is the place 'wholesome' people go.... Not walking street.

Pattaya is generally safe so go wherever you wish. Surely you have a reason to go there, so what do you wish to do? I presume you know about Songkran! Do you want to be in the middle of that or do you wish to avoid the crowds and craziness? You want calm bars to relax with a drink or the bars with the bar girls? There are many YouTube videos you can watch to see what is available. A first visit to Pattaya can be intense, so limit your booze and try to enjoy whatever it is you are looking for.

it blows me away that people are willing to travel to a country across the other side of the world but not look into depth about where to go other than the first place they land, which is always a massive tourist trap

Avoid all lady-bars and particularly wolking street....so avoid ladies in bar....commonly said Thailand is basically quite safe country because of budhis religion and strict laws if turists heart.

Depending what you looking for, I love live music, some good bar around the walking street, but I prefer jomtien more layed back. Take care bar has a great band,always good people 👍

Just walk about if will be easy to figure it out. Many places are decent. Just walk around and enjoy some tours. The street food was great snd people are kind.

Avoid the hot sauce in any endeavor!

Have to experience walking street,

You have all of Thailand to choose from and you go with Pattaya so i think you know what you're going there for and that always comes with some risks.

You will love it. Avoid the muslim area at the end of walking, other than that, the rest is pure joy.

Going to pattaya and you don't visit walking street once than you haven't been to pattaya it's an eye opener a must do enjoy the adventure but it's not everyone's cup of tea just be mindful you are dealing with the most street savy females and shims you will ever see the thai girl if not interested just show respect and keep walking

Koh Samui just got home from Thailand yesterday Phuket is very full on only stayed in Pattaya for one night . Full of old single men .i stayed in a condo which was lovely but it was full of older men with very young tha girls my partner hated it so only stayed 1 night . We stayed at samui hays bungalow which was amazing beach beautiful staff was really good .

The Temple of Truth is a must see. All hand carved wooden structure. It is amazing

Great, safe place for a holiday just watch out for the whinging expats ,non Thai tourists ( male) who think they own the place and the people owe them something. It's a transactional economy, you control who opens your wallet noone else . Like Europe and the home countries money is a woman's viagra except Thai woman are a hell of alot nicer than the delusional entitled bearches you're married to or were. Just respect the people , you'll love the food,islands, entertainment and if you're a born again party animal you'll be fine. I wouldnt fall in love with a 20 year old gogo girl though ,you'll end up with a broken heart and wallet probably and let yourself be colonised , the assimilation part can be fun if you're not a 10 %er like most of us guys who go to Pattaya. It's cheap az so if you have a healthy bank balance don't try and screw the Thai people out of a few dollars like you're a f in slave owner, I know these millionares who take great delight in battering and screwing Thai woman but not in a good way. It's the naughtyist city in the world apart from places in England and Europe , if you like whores go there. Happy holidays .
