Hi guys, this may have been asked already and I apologize for that.

One year visa base on marriage.

Please I need to know updated informations about the documentation needed to apply and the time needed to get it done for an Italian.(I don't know if it's different for different passports)

Next week finally me and my Thai girlfriend will marry! But I'm short with times, I'm afraid I won't get another tourist visa.

Thank you very much to anyone that will help me.

Wish you all a good day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking updated information on the necessary documentation and processing times required for applying for a one-year marriage visa (NON-O) in Thailand as an Italian citizen. Comments highlight the required documents, which include Thai wife's ID card, house book, marriage certificates, and passport details, as well as the fees involved. Additionally, the processing time is typically around two days, similar to that of a tourist visa, and there are insights about applying at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet.

no, you don't need to do anything with the marriage certificates

Okay, there's some misinformation being shared

Despit what
@Chi***
, provided to the thai consulate at Savannakhet to get her Non-O visa, a LOT of that isn't required at all.

That a consulate takes documentation above and beyond what's required doesn't mean you needed to turn in that stuff. Thai officials LIKE paperwork so they're unlikely to give back anything extra you hand in.

In Savannakhet for a Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on marriage to a thai national (for foreign men or foreign women) you need;

copies of;

thai wife's thai i/d card (front & back on one page)

thai wife's house book listing

the two marriage certificates (Kor Ror 2 & 3)

the data page of your passport

You also need;

original rose bordered marriage certificate

two passport sized photos

your passport and the application for the visa.

Those things along with 2000baht will get you a 90 day single entry Non-O or pay 5000 baht and get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O

Your wife signs anything with her name on it, you sign anything with yours (meaning you BOTH sign the marriage certificate copies ;) )

Now those are NOT the things you need to go to the immigration office and get a yearly extension of stay from them so let's not get confused about that.

@Chi***
. That's for a 1 year 'extention of stay' at a Thai immigration office, not for a visa obtained at a Thai consulate.

@Francesco *****
i don't really know. I had to give them the copy of the blue book together with the signed ID card. And now that I remember the pictures of me and my husband outside of the house with the visible house number. When I then got the 1 year visa at the local immigration in Thailand police came to see if I truly lived where I said I was (probably you also have to have a map with GPS coordinates) and they took pictures of me and my husband in the house. The second time I renewed the visa, police came and I was not there and they went to question my neighbour if he knew me and stuff like that.

Francesco. Use her current blue book or the one with her name in it, family etc

Steve *******
@Chi***
, neither farang men at savanakhet.

@Steve ******
I went with the pictures and they took them. They probably liked them 🤔 financial proof is something farang women are not requested to show 🙂
Steve *******
At Savanakhet he doesnt need any photos with friends nor as a man does he need to show financial proof. He has a list of documents needed for either a single or multi non imm o visa based on marriage.
Jordan ********
How long does it take ? Same time as a tourist visa?
Steve *******
Yes. 2 days. Apply day 1, pick up next day.

Correct
Steve *******
Which consulate do you want to apply? Savanakhet Laos needs no financial proof. Multi non imm requires signed copies of marriage certs plus origional, wifes id and house book and copies of your passport main page and two photos, 5000bt fee and completed app form
Steve *******
@Fran*****
, thats for an extention of stay not for a visa
Steve *******
@Fran*****
. Apply at a Thai consulate, savanakhet, laos is very user friendly for multi non imm o based on marriage
