How can I successfully apply for a Thai visa from Italy after a previous rejection?
Accepted from Rome Embassy (Italian passport) - Workation
2nd attempt (I applied from Hanoi in May and got rejected in one week, moved back to Italy shortly after and applied from there)
June 23rd - Applied online at the Royal Thai Embassy of Rome (I am a freelancer legally registered in Italy with partita IVA)
June 24th - Request for additional documents (flight ticket out of Italy)
June 24th - Aug 9th - nothing. Zero updates. I tried to call the embassy several times on work hours between 9.30am and 12.30 bu they never picked up the phone nor replied to my emails.
Aug 10th - Finally someone picks up te phone only to tell me to call again in the afternoon after 14:30. I call again and the person at the phone tells me to call a different number. I call the new number and the person has no idea why my application is stalled, I suspect they just forgot about it (yay italian bureaucracy) 🙃 I tell them I have an upcoming flight to Thailand in two weeks and they tell me to just chill and wait

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.
That's what you should do... print it out.
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Did you have to show proof of stay - accomodation? Did they ask you how long are you going to stay? These infos are all requested in the web page application, and I was wondering what to reply honestly. im also about to apply through soft power though

I only had to show a flight ticket out of Italy. You have to put an accommodation in Thailand when you apply but I was never asked for proof. In fact I canceled that accommodation a few days before I got my visa approved as I am staying somewhere elseMarco *******
Grazie molto utile!!! ero bloccato da questi dettagli, ovvero quanto tempo "dichiarare". Oltretutto non ho ben capite se ti serve il biglietto vero e proprio gia acquistato oppure basta menzionare il volo. Chiedo tutto cio per evitare che il visto sia rifiutato, ed io perda tutte le varie prenotazioni gia fatte.

thats great congrats!!! On the web application they are also asking how long are you staying. From when to when. Do you have to specify the whole duration of the DTV, 5 years? Or how long?

I think I put something like 90 days. Longer then a tourist visa but shorter than 6 months. They are only asking about your first stay you are not supposed to put 5 years

OPAnonymous participant 325 my guess is that because i am a freelancer in italy they did no trust my documentation in italian (i provided self translation). or maybe i just provided too much confusing info whereas in italy i kept things simpler.
