Anyone successfully received a drivers license in Thailand on a DTV? I drive my gfs car all the time but id feel better about it if I actually had a Thai license.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses the feasibility of obtaining a Thai driver's license while holding a DTV visa. Most participants confirm that it is indeed possible to obtain either a temporary or an extended driver's license with a DTV. Key requirements include presenting a Certificate of Residency, which can often be acquired regardless of visa type, along with necessary documentation such as a valid home country license, health certificate, and passport. While some users report successful applications, others note varying experiences, indicating that requirements may differ slightly by location.
Yes my husband and I just got our Thai driver's license in Phuket, really easy to get make sure you have an IDP and your home country license, a passport size photo, copies of the data page of passport and page with visa stamp, and you'll need a certificate of residency, only a two year license being on DTV
Licenses can be made on any visa as long as you can get a certificate of residence from immigration (or any agent which is useful if you don't have a tm30 or any other weird requirements such as 90 day reports)
Yes of course. It’s not hard or complicated. Just look up the nearest DLT and go in and ask what you need. If you can’t find it ask any Thai person.
In my case I had an American car and motorcycle license so it was easy to convert to Thai license. If you don’t have a local license you can do the test n all that or take a training course which guarantees the license at the end.
I live in korat, im told i need a certificate of residence to get a driving licence, went to immigration in korat and they told me i cannot get a certificate of residence with a dtv visa, has to be a non immigrant visa
