Hi Everyone,

I am looking into coming to Thailand to study (Thai Language) beginning the end of July, when a new semester starts. I'm still undecided on a school, but I notice each one has slightly different procedures for applying for an ED visa.

As an Australian, I am able to obtain a 3-month visa to start, but from there, the procedures start to differ, albeit slightly.

I also need to arrive before semester start to arrange a place to live.

Does anyone have their own experience with ED visas they can share, like the steps involved, places to live, local bank accounts, etc.?

If you need to know more from me, let me know too.

Thanks in advance.

Brad.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about the process of obtaining an ED visa to study Thai language in Thailand, specifically in relation to the application steps, living arrangements, and the necessity of a local bank account. Comments suggest that once a school is chosen, they should provide assistance with the visa process, and that location can affect the available options.

I often wondered if you have to study Thai. If you can here to study English, then the test would be real easy and you wouldn't have to worry about getting the boot.

You need to decide on a location first.

If it's Chiang Mai I have some options.

Once you decide on a school, they should assist with an Education Visa.
