I'm interested in signing up for a language school In Chiang Mai. It's a real school with good reviews and I intend to actually study.
I know some people arrive with tourist visas and then convert, but I already visited thailand with a tourist visa a few months ago so I prefer to get my ED visa from my embassy.
The posts on Facebook about people having trouble when entering with ED worry me a bit.. it would be my first time entering before I start school. Is getting an ED before my trip the right choice? Will I be able to enter Thailand without problems?
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on obtaining an Education (ED) visa before traveling to Thailand for language studies in Chiang Mai, expressing concerns about potential entry issues. A comment reassures that entering with an ED visa issued from an embassy should not cause problems, highlighting that issues arise primarily when current ED visa holders travel frequently.
You shouldn't have any issues entering with an ED visa issued from an embassy.
What people have issues with is leaving the country when they're already on an ED visa or extension and coming back. They're supposed to be studying which is why they were granted the visa so if they're leaving often or for long periods, they're clearly not studying.
