In case helps anyone else get a question off their shoulder...reply from Thai Embassy in Jakarta this morning, regarding how long the 500k Baht needs seasoning. Figured I'd best ask them directly, as kept getting mixed answers on this page.

That 3 month rule is stupid. Why would we keep this amount of cash in the bank for such a long time? The opportunity cost of not investing is too high.
