Good Afternoon, I read a message (I think from Todd) that mentioned a new condition, If You are Lao (Passport) and here on courtesy entry.

Can you get a 30 day extension?

and 1900 Baht?

also how many days before the stay, can you go to Immigration ?

(5 days? or 10 Days?)

Thank You.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, Lao passport holders who enter Thailand on courtesy entry can apply for a 30-day extension. The cost for this extension is 1900 Baht. It is generally recommended to visit Immigration when you have 30 days or less remaining on your current stay, but some specific offices like those in Jomtien and Samui require you to visit with 14 days or less left.

They recently changed the rules about the countries who enter on visa waiver (Hong Kong, Lao, Vietnam, Macao, Mongolia) so that they can get 30 day extensions.

Most offices allow a 30 day extension when you have 30 days or less, the exception is Jomtien and Samui which both want you to come when you have 2 weeks or less left on your stamp.

(y) and NOW on that type of entry she can get a 30 day extension for 1900baht at the immigration office in the area where she stays

and as I said holding a Lao passport she gets in on what's called a visa waiver entry for 30 days.

before people on that stamp couldn't get 30 day extensions BUT now people from the countries I listed earlier CAN get a 30 day extension.

There is no "courtesy entry" she gets in for 30 days because thaiz get in to Lao for 30 days <- it's a reciprocal agreement deal. The stamp she gets in to thailand on is called a visa waiver stamp.

เธœ.เธœ.30 should be written or stamped at the top of her entry stamp

@Scott *******
the cost is 1900baht to get a 30 day extension, that's the price at all the immmigration offices no matter the duration of the extension ๐Ÿ™‚

@Scott *******
it's a type of free entry stamp,

There's visa waiver, and visa exempt, BEFORE the people from countries who got 30 day visa waiver stamps couldn't get a 30 day extension now they can.
