When going border run, to extent visa, will it then be extended proportionally to the current expiry date, or will it be extended from the date of stamp? Should one go as late as possible?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When performing a border run in Thailand, the newly granted 30-day Visa Exempt Entry begins from the date of re-entry, not extending the existing visa's expiry date. Therefore, if you are nearing your tourist visa's expiration, going on the last day is advisable, as the 30-day visa granted upon border re-entry will not add time but will start on that date. Additionally, travelers should be aware that border runs for a new Visa Exempt Entry are limited to twice per calendar year for citizens from 54 specific countries.

You go on the last day as stamped in the square stamp in your passport with the text Admitted Until ../../.. You stamp out Thailand, stamp in/out neighbor country, come back into Thailand and you get a Visa Exempt Entry which is good for 30 days of stay.

if you have a 2 month tourist visa, the border run will give you no extension for another 30 days when you cross the border a few days before the Tourist visa expires, The newly achieved 30 day is a visa exempt entry and will count from the day on when you re-enter. A Tourist Visa is 60 + 30 days. A 30 days extension must be made at an Immigration inside Thailand. If you cross the border, you will only get a 30 day visa exempt entry and you tourist visa will be used up

Robert Lagas I already got my extend at local immigration office... so, now, border run... I just dont want run, to early, because my flight out is already booked oct 25... currect expire is oct 5...

If you are on the initial 60 days Admitted to Stay you can apply at an Immigration Office for a 30 day Extension of Stay. Your Single Entry Tourist Visa is already invalid by the first entry into Thailand and has or a stamp USED on it or some pen writings. If you cross the border and come back you can get a new Visa Exempt Entry.

Okay, again: You can NOT get an Extension of Stay at the border.

Ok, I know what you mean. What I mean is of course how do I get a 30 day visa permit when crossing a border without loosing any days of current tourist visa?
Robert *******
You can NOT get an Extention of Stay at any border. You do this at the Immigration Office in your area.
