TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Marriage visa in Thailand, you typically do not need to show the origin of the funds, such as the 400,000 baht requirement. Immigration offices, like those in Samut Prakhan and Chiang Mai, primarily require proof that the money has been in the account for at least two months and an updated bank book showing that the funds are present. No specific proof of where the funds came from is generally necessary.

This is one post I'm not gonna leave open for every Tom, Dick and Somchai to weigh in on what their immigration office does.

I think
@Peter ******

Thanx everyone for the comments

I do mine in Chiang Mai immigration and they don't care where the money comes from as long as it is there for at least 2 months and you have documents from the bank to proof that as well as your updated bankbook.

They don't care .

Samut Prakhan don’t care where the money came from. All they want is a letter less than 7 days old saying I’ve had 400k in.

They also require the bank book to be updated the day you apply with a photocopy

let's please, try NOT to side track threads

.

If you want the requirements for Samut Prakan for a marriage extension you slog on over to the office and get the hand out listing them πŸ˜•

Just like people have to do for the 80 odd other immigration offices in the country

i use the 400k in my own name bank account. They also require a cert from the local amphor stating we are still married.

Along with all the other docs

Unless I am mistaken no immigration office has a requirement to show proof of funds origin using banked money method (the 400K) when applying for the initial 90 day Non-O visa or year extension based on marriage to a thai.

Doesn't matter where it came from

GO out to Chaengwattana main office in Building B of the government complex you want Section C-1 and get the hand out listing the requirements to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage from them.
