TLDR : Answer Summary
There are no specific nationality restrictions preventing someone from applying for an educational visa (ED Visa) for Thailand. Most individuals, regardless of nationality, can apply. However, applicants from certain countries such as Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, and various Middle Eastern countries are required to submit their applications at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home or residence country. It is essential to be enrolled in a recognized educational program and have the necessary documents from the institution for a successful application.

Applicants from Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, and Middle Eastern countries will need to apply for an ED Visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home/residence country or at a specified Thai Embassy.đŽ
- Studying for 3 Months or Longer: All nationalities can apply to study in Thailand, The first thing to keep in mind is that to apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa, you must have been accepted into a full-time educational course, training program, or internship in Thailand. To submit your application, you must first be enrolled in a recognized full-time education course that meets all of the visaâs requirements and has paid at least half of the total course costs, or the full enrolment fee.
Once youâve enrolled in a full-time course, the school or institution must prepare and provide you with all the paperwork youâll need to submit your application. In some cases, the school may be able to send or fax the paperwork directly to the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate where you wish to apply.

Usually itâs a few thousand baht more but if youâre genuinely studying no restrictions
said itâs certainly not normal to have any nationality unable to get an Ed visa. There may be specific offices that are imposing such a rule but we are unaware of any.
Thatâs the case for many visas when apply from outside of Thailand at an embassy or consulate. Never heard of a case with applying from within Thailand.
Some schools accept certain nationalities and some don't, and when I ask if its coming from the school, they say its from immigration that are not issuing the ED visa to specific nationalities, I am getting conflicted information.
