TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for obtaining a long-term education visa in Thailand, specifically a one-year multiple-entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa, is complex. Most individuals are typically approved for a 90-day single-entry ED visa upon school enrollment, which can be extended using further paperwork every 90 days at the immigration office. Participants have suggested that enrolling in a reputable language school may be beneficial, and there is a possibility that this visa can only be extended for a limited time (recently noted as 8 months instead of 12). Engaging directly with a school can provide clarity on the application process and necessary documentation.

You are highly unlikely to get a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type ED <-(education) visa for studying anything at a private school.
Once you enroll in a school, you'll get paperwork to go to a thai consulate and get a 90 day single entry ED visa. Then when that time runs out you'll get more paperwork to go to the immigration office and apply for an extension of stay for 1900baht. Extension for studying in a private school can only be issued for up to 90 days at a time, so you do this every 90 days for the entire year.

correct (y) the school will give you paperwork to go out of the country to a thai consulate and get the ED visa, then the school will give you more paperwork to go to the immigration office and get your extensions from them.

Ok. So I need to get a ED visa in first place. Then I don't need to leave the country for further explanation. Right? Even if they give me extension for 3 or 4 times, it's not required to go out of the country in that process. This is what I understood
, you'd go out of the country to get the 90 day ED visa and then after that you could stay in the country as long as they continue to give you extensions of stays due to you studying. Which is usually a year's worth of extensions.

OK but do I need to leave the country in between?

I heard that now its only 8 month, not 12 month

Schools that are really teaching thai have students out at the Ministry of Education getting tested most every day of the week so they can continue to get extensions of stays based on studying.
, notice how they have it broken down into the 8 month and then the 6 month? That's because you can get almost 8 months out of the first ED visa with extensions without having to go to the Ministry of Education and get tested.
So they just have you leave the country right then and go get another 90 day ED visa which you can get extended for the6 month class.

Diiz Macaron they are not telling you the truth, :/ Plain and simple any school that tells you the program is 8 months is doing it ONLY so that their students don't go to the MOE and get tested.

Oh... That's not fair. She should revise the price also but we can't do anything about it
Diiz *********
But the price was the same 1 year or 8 month ..

When i talk to the school, they said that now no school do more than 8month visa because farang not go to study or exam.
, the reason they do that is so that students don't have to go to the MOE and get tested. It's got NOTHING to do with whether you can get a year worth of extensions out of the ED visa.

Talk to your school where you are going to study. They will explain the whole procedure and provide you with the necessary documents. (Or were you planning on doing it the other way round maybe?) π
