TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the eligibility requirements for expats seeking a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand without an established client history. Community members share various experiences, emphasizing the importance of documentation like business registration and contracts rather than client invoices. One contributor detailed their successful switch from a Non-O retirement visa to a DTV by simply registering a business name and stating their remote work duties, highlighting how approvals can be swift if the paperwork is in order. The conversation also touches on varying requirements by embassy or consulate and opinions about the timing of applying for the visa without existing clients.
Depends on Embassy/Consulate. I switched from non-O retirement to DTV, and all I did was register a business name, get an Australian Business Number (both of which can be done online very easily and low cost). I nominated my daughter as the "secretary" and she gave me a work contract (template online) stating my duties can be performed remotely in Thailand. The business consults and manages my Australian investment properties. Absolutely no dollar figures were given. I am simply a "remote worker". The approval took three days. Now I've got the five-year visa which beats the crap out of the pedantic non-O 👍👍
but you need to leave the country every 6 months right?

I wouldn’t waste your money until you have clients and pay stubs

Should work lile a charm. As long as you look good on paper. I got a KSR Masters Degree that made me a lotta money at international schools, when in reality, I never even attended high school.
well, it is that easy - no documentation of your "workation" - clips, receipts of bills from your customers, no tax declarations, no friggin' nothing - no DTV approval . . . . even a low-life as me is smart enough. Why df don' you low dipwit ask your question in the FB Group "Destination Thailand Visa"
keep cool Franky, your just a small retired production technicien with bellow average physical attributes , you can get laid only in Thailand. Dont show off with ur low life & your bar girl
having founded an own company within five minutes, proved on a paper everyone can dig up on a computer, does not make you a digital nomad. I at least expect that you are able to use your brain
plus 500,000 THB in your account for XXX months. If you just started your company, you aint got any recent bills from your customers. Wish ya good luck with the appliction, you know if you can't supply what they need, the application fee is gone, so pick and choose carefully and get yer ducks in a row
