My husband, who is European just got DTV approved in UAE. He owns a company in Dubai and therefore holds a permanent residence card. He submitted DTV documents near the end of March when he left Thailand. He ended up providing them with 6 months of bank statements from a Thai Bank, as well as 3 months of statements from REVOLUT, his company registration papers in Dubai, Hong Kong, company profile, shareholder information, and a cover letter stating that he works online from Thailand, but travels all over Asia quite regularly on business trips. The original application included only basic info and screenshots so they came back to him 2x to ask for more financial information and company information. But it was approved very quickly after the supporting info was uploaded. He had previously been going in and out of Thailand every couple of weeks on visa exempt stamps for the past 3 years. Immigration told him to get a long term visa and they recommended the DTV for someone whose home base is Thailand but travels regularly for work. He's not the traditional online worker or influencer who receives a monthly salary so I thought this might help other people who are in a similar position.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A European expat recently shared his experience obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while residing in Thailand. After submitting comprehensive financial and company documentation, including bank statements and company registration papers, he received quick approval from Thai immigration. This case illustrates the process and necessary documentation for expats who work remotely and travel for business, highlighting that even non-traditional online workers can successfully apply for a long-term visa.
