TLDR : Answer Summary
When extending a visa in Thailand, it is mandatory to report your current residential address, as immigration officers will not process the extension without this information. This is part of the TM30 form requirement, which needs to be supported with proof of registration for your address. If you are staying in a temporary accommodation like a hostel, hotel, or Airbnb, those establishments can typically handle the registration for you online, providing a screenshot for you to present at immigration. The extension generally allows for an additional 60 days.

We just got back from immigration. The staff told us If you live in a hostel or hotel(or Airbnb) , they should do it for you online. They will send you the result screenshot. you need to print it out and then take it to the immigration and show them to the staff.

Yes. This is normal for most ( if not all) immigration offices. It’s called a TM30. You need to have proof of registration of address.

each office has its own rules. Places like Phuket have been asking this for ages. Other offices may have only recently required it.
