What are the TM30 requirements for STV visa holders staying in different provinces in Thailand?

Hello, I’m looking for some advice on the TM30.

I’ve just arrived on a STV visa (currently in ASQ right now).

My hotel told me that I need to fill in the TM30 as soon as I’m out of quarantine, but I’m planning on staying south and avoiding the smoke, before going back up north to the address which is on my visa and all other paperwork.

Does anyone know if filling in my TM30 from a guesthouse in another province could be a problem for when it comes to extending my visa?

Thanks for any help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the TM30 registration process for a new arrival on an STV visa currently undergoing quarantine. The user seeks advice on the implications of filling out the TM30 while staying at a guesthouse in a different province from the address registered on their visa. Commenters clarify that different immigration offices have varying TM30 policies, with some requiring registration within 24 hours while others may allow infrequent submissions. Additionally, it's noted that filing TM30 at both the new location and upon return should not cause issues when extending the visa.

Should not be a problem when you seek to extend the visa.

Different immigration offices have different TM30 policies. SOME immigration offices want you to file the TM30 no later then 24 business hours after you arrive, while others want you to file it only once. LEGALLY, when you arrive to your guesthouse in "the south", the guesthouse will file the TM30. When you return to "the north", the hotel/ guesthouse will file the TM30 as well. ASK for the receipt.

thanks for your answer! Should I have asked for one from my ASQ too? I’m on day 5 now so a bit late...

I'm 100% positive your ASQ filed a TM30 for you. Will you do anything at immigration after you are released?

I wasn’t aware that I needed to? I thought that so long as I had my asq certificate, I wouldn’t have to do anything with immigration until my visa extension..

Then there's nothing you need to do. If you're on an STV, you can apply for an extension of stay based on STV when there's 30 days or less remaining on your existing stamp.

when you leave ASQ quarantine you or your landlord will need to file a TM 30 upon arrival at your next address within 24 hours of arriving.

So if you get a hotel a month at a time, but occasionally don't spend the night there, every time you come back you should ask them to file a TM30 again right? Can you do your own if they refuse, I imagine they're going to get sick of it.

its the hotel responsibility to file a TM 30 each time you check into the hotel

Well my point is that I would only check into my main hotel once for the whole trip, even though I may stay other places on weekends.

@Justin *******
they still have to file the TM30 whenever you stay the night

That's right, you should - if another TM30 was filed. Filing a TM30 is easy for a hotel. It's simply a spreadsheet that has all the people's names, passport numbers, and other relevant information. The hotel sends it off to immigration once a day.
