A Chinese guest on a one-month stay in Chiang Mai is asking for a tenancy agreement/contract so that they can extend their stay - based on Tourist (Co-vid amnesty). I thought a TM 30 was sufficient. Their information was based on Immigration office in Chonburi. Any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Chinese visitor in Chiang Mai is seeking advice on extending their one-month stay using a tenancy agreement due to the Tourist Covid amnesty. There's confusion regarding the requirements, as advice varies by immigration office; it's suggested to consult local groups and check specific policies with the immigration office in Chiang Mai for accurate guidance.

Here's my opinion:

1. Each immigration office has their own policy. Talk to each immigration office for their requirements.

2. For Chaing Mai, I recommend asking on a local group, they may know.

Good luck!

I'm VERY confused.

You're saying Chiang Mai, and then you're saying Chonburi. Those immigration offices are nowhere near each other.

I know IM offices differ. The guest has not visited Chiang Mai office before and claims they have to go today to renew

the guest received the requirement instruction for supplying a tenancy agreement in Chonburi. Guest has since moved to Chiang Mai and has to extend again today.
