⚠️ Take note: STV Extension

I went to the immigration office in Bangkok and I thought I have all the documents required but I still miss these few points. I would like to share my experience so you don’t have to go through this hassle.

1. Make sure you dressed appropriately (ladies, cover your shoulder with scarf or just wear a t-shirt)

2. If you’re staying in a hotel and use it as your current address in the form, make sure the hotel registered TM.30 in the system. Immigration will check on the system to make sure you’re staying there.

3. Make sure your ASQ hotel gave you a hotel confirmation letter as below. The actual certificate given is not acceptable. Make sure you have the original receipt copy of your ASQ photocopied.

and of course the other documents still needed as stated,

1. Original passport

2. Photocopy (1 copy needed only) of identity page passport, T.M 6 departure card, arrival stamp, visa approved page, ASQ receipt, ASQ confirmation of completion letter, your current hotel booking receipt, insurance

3. A photo of yourself

Horrible time yesterday for 3rd extension. They have changed buildings but wasn’t in appointment email. Needed more photo copies and to go downstairs, no signage almost half a km away for copies. Fill more forms PLUS it is the worst COVID risk situation, people packed in and long waits 🤯 but the staff are great.

@Jill *****
for the second srv extension, what documents were required? Did they ask for asq receipts?
Ruben *******
Same happened to me about moving

It is unfortunate
@Ji**
you didn't read about them moving Tourist visa extensions back to Chaengwattana (they did that back on April 5th) :/ .

The up side is you can do everything in the government building B (copies, photos, etc).

There shouldn't have been too many people in Section J (the section for tourist visa extensions), It's usually a slow section

They just keep adding requirements. How can anyone keep up when they can't?

Expats know and respect Thai customs for official business such as Immigration visits.I always wear long sleeve shirt , trousers and shoes and have never had a problem .

I just got done for sending in the tm30 late because I had not even heard of it, they said normally 1500b fine but today only 500 promotion

Honestly, the most annoying thing is that the dress code doesn’t seem to apply to men

I've seen guys get turned away for wearing shorts in Chang Wattana
Jon ********
I've seen men turned away for their lack of respectful dress sense

@Jon *******
I guess it depends where. In chonburi I was turned away for wearing leggings but they let men in shorts and thin vests through which are apparently prohibited
