TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thailand Sandbox program allows vaccinated travelers from eligible countries to enter through a quarantine-free method by booking a 7-night stay at a SHA+ hotel. Travelers must pay for a PCR test upon arrival at Phuket airport and remain in their hotel room until receiving the test result. A second PCR test is required around day 5 or 6. This process enables freedom of movement within the sandbox area, such as Phuket, during the day, while requiring hotel accommodation each night.

🔴 The CCSA has just confirmed that although new registrations for Test & Go remain suspended, travellers who have already been approved can enter #Thailand according to the conditions and on the date they requested, until this order changes. There is NO cut off date.

very good at least they are honouring that. The Thai pass which is has similar qualifying criteria is good to see as an alternative way to enter Thailand 🇹🇭

We did the Sandbox Program in Phuket and the hotel we stayed at helped us with everything with no service costs from the SHA + certificate, booking tests at the clinic, insurance and also the transportation from the airport.

We were so impressed we made a video of the hotel, rooms and the beach, check it out

If you’re vaccinated and from an eligible country you book 7 nights in a SHA+ hotel and pay for your PCR test at Phuket airport. You organise transport to your hotel where you stay in the room until you get the results of your test. If negative you can then roam the sandbox area (e.g Phuket ). You have to sleep in the hotel each night but are free to roam during the day. On day (5 or 6 - not actually sure) you go to an approved medical centre and have another PCR test. Once you’ve completed your 7 nights you can travel around Thailand (subject to any local travel restrictions).

that seems to be up in the air at the moment. Previously you’re carted off to a hospital for at least 10 days. Now there’s talk of “hospitels” where you stay in a hotel for said time if you have mild symptoms. I think it depends on which region of Thailand you are in too. Sorry to be vague but don’t know a specific answer.

depends on the embassy you’re using. Many now use the evisa system which is all electronic. Your visa arrives via email. You need the ThailandPass to enter which requires confirmed flights, accommodation and insurance.

ThailandPass is not suspended. The option of using the “test and go” entry has been suspended. Doing quarantine in Bangkok or using one of the sandbox entry schemes are still allowed.
