Savanakhet update 21.11

Applying for single entry tourist visa

Showing cash or a screenshot of your bank account won’t get you past first base .

You need to show actual bank statement print out( 3 months single 6 months double ).

You also need to show them proof that you send the bank statement to your email .

I presented right in front of them uk cash not accepted or any cash,,

it was way over 20000 baht I presented .

Not accepted as evidence to support your trip !!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
As of November 2023, applying for a single entry tourist visa in Savanakhet requires presenting an actual printed bank statement covering three months. Screenshots or cash, including UK cash, are not accepted as valid proof of funds for your trip. It’s necessary to demonstrate that the bank statement has been sent to your email. Some applicants noted that they had to obtain statements officially issued by the bank, which were signed and stamped.

If you have thai bank book and it is recently updated, it should also do the trick

When I did mine, I had to go to the bank and order a statement which was then signed and stamped by the bank.

needs to be printed out ,confirmed by another tourist in line who had presented the online banking the previous day in front of the immigration and was rejected

He presented the printed out version the next day and was presented with a ticket to collect his passport next day

you cannot get a 6-month multi entry Tourist Visa in Savannakhet, you need to apply for this in your home country. At the Thai Consulate in Savannakhet, you can only apply for the 60-days single entry Tourist Visa. And since many many years, there are no "double entry Tourist Visa" any more .

@Jamie *****
well, if you are a Laotian citizen or hold a permanent residency in Laos, you could apply for the multi entry Tourist Visa. Do you fulfill any of these two requirements?
