Hi! Wanted to give a feedback from my experience getting a DTV in Hanoi.
* It took 2 days to get a request for 1 additionnal document (bank statement with the 500k covering a 3 month period)
* Once they had it it took 1 day to be approved.
Overall super quick and straightforward. I was a bit intimidated at first, but I filed alone and for a Workation, and didn't had a single issue. Others might be overthinking it as well. Don't need an agency nor expensive course imo. If you have some income online that doesn't involves Thailand and is done remotely, your'e good.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post shares a personal experience of obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Hanoi, highlighting a quick and straightforward process that took only a few days. The poster submitted an application solo for a workation and indicated that a bank statement showing 500,000 THB over three months was requested, which implied a change in the requirements compared to previous experiences. The feedback notes that while some found the process intimidating, it can be done without the help of an agency if one has remote income that does not involve Thailand.
Thanks and good luck to your bf. I'm in Portugal so I imagine it will just take longer here like everything else bureaucratic. Guess I'll have to wait and see
the 500k had to be in your bank for 3 months? i thought it was 3 months of statements, the 500k has to be in the bank for one month only and is the closing balance
