TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a tourist visa in Savannakhet, Laos, you generally need to provide a bank statement showing at least 20,000 THB or equivalent currency, proof of onward travel, and proof of accommodation. The process can be straightforward, as some applicants have reported having their visas issued the next day with minimal paperwork. The cost of the visa is typically consistent with other consulates and embassies. Note that there is a stipulation that applicants who have stayed in Thailand for more than 90 days in the past 6 months may not be eligible for a tourist visa in Savannakhet.

no, you did not understand, Savannakhet will deny you a Tourist Visa if you stayed in Thailand more than 90 days in the past 6 month, even under working visa. So you can border border run No1,than 30days at Immigration, than border run No2, than 30days. So you have around 4 month time to get paperwork together. Than can apply Non B in Vietiane or Savannakhet.

Yes, I will do a border run first. Then next is Savannakhet for tourist visa. And then Savannakhet again for non b visa. Is this possible? ๐Ÿ™‚

James Miller Yes I did. Unfortunately, I can't process my non b visa yet due to my contract duration which is below 3 months. So for now I will just process tourist visa first until I can process my non b visa in october most likely. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just submitted my bank statement with 20.000Thb ,nothing more.Next day my visa was ready.And nothing was asked when crossing land border to Mukdahan ,everyting was fine...

If my memory serves me right you have a history of stay in Thailand. AFAIK, I hope you can proof me wrong the Consulate is nowadays very strict on persons that stayed more than 90 days in the past 6 month (they even consider stay Non Immigrants in that rule). When did you apply ?
Tod *********
I think you were just lucky not to have been asked for proof of onward travel.
Stephen *********
Same price as all other embassies or consulates
Tod *********
That is NOT correct
@Ste****
:/

A thai tourist visa costs 40 US in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Vietnam. At the consulates in Lao it's 1000baht, it's 150 ringgits at the consulates in Malaysia.

It's NOT the same price everywhere

bank statement with at least 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency, proof of onward travel and proof of accommodation. Out of reports the Consulate also looks at your history of living inside Thailand.
