What are the requirements for applying for a 60-day Covid extension in Thailand, particularly regarding the embassy letter?

I'm here at MTT right now, trying to apply for the 60 day Covid extension. Had a transit visa that expired in April. Printed all the forms. I just don't have a letter from the Philippine embassy. Got turned away. Lady at the counter and the guy behind him said I still needed that embassy letter. I guess the requirements vary between countries?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is attempting to apply for a 60-day Covid extension for their transit visa but was denied due to the absence of a necessary letter from the Philippine embassy. They note a discrepancy in requirements based on nationality and reflect on needing to revisit the embassy for documentation.

(Author) I have an extension until Nov. 30. I was hoping to get the 60 day extension that starts after Nov. without the letter.

I guess I have to make another trip to the embassy

I think what it might be is IF your embassy/consulate here does issue the letter you have to get it from them.

I know immigration offices were telling people that if their consulate didn't issue the letter to bring the email saying so or do a screen grab print of the webpage.

It seems hit or miss though. Sorry
