Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice from people who recently applied for a DTV in Vientiane.

Were you required to provide proof of an onward or return ticket to Thailand? If so:

• What ticket did you provide?

• How far after your application date was the flight booked?

• Were you able to find a refundable or flexible ticket? If so, which airline did you use?

• Did anyone use an onward ticket service instead of purchasing a full flight?

My concern is that processing times can vary, so it’s difficult to know exactly when the visa will be approved. If the visa is not approved before my planned departure date, I may need to travel to another destination rather than return directly to Thailand.

I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for people who applied through Vientiane recently.

You just enter a proposed date sometime before 3 months. They don't ask for any proof of travel, to be on the safe side I would put something about 3 weeks out from your application date

ProficientOctopus4146 So go find the flight number of an airline departure from your location that arrives in Thailand on said date. If that's too hard you can just walk across the friendship bridge to Nong Khai

I never had to submit proof of onward or return ticket, just intended travel date to Thailand.
