Hello... looking for some advice on the 90-day reporting requirement: I understand there's a window of 15-days before and 7-days after my actual 90th day that I can go online to post my report (I'm past my initial report so I'm eligible for online reporting). I also understand that should I leave Thailand and then return, the day counter starts fresh upon my arrival back into the country. My question: my 90th day is on January 8 and I'm planning to return to Bangkok from Singapore on January 10. Would I satisfy the 90-day reporting? I'm thinking/hoping that because I return within the 7-day window that would classify. Or does the 7-day window only apply to online reporting. Hope my inquiry makes sense. Thanks for your helpful advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the 90-day reporting requirement for foreigners in Thailand, specifically whether returning to Thailand just after leaving would affect their ability to report their stay. A responder explains that if the user leaves Thailand before their 90-day reporting date, their new counting period begins upon re-entry, thus making them ineligible to report on the original date. They also clarify the specifics of the reporting windows for in-person, online, and by mail submissions.

You sound like confusing a few things. 90 days report is to report you are inside Thailand for consecutive 90 days. You have a reporting window to report that you have been in Thailand for 90 days as of that due date.

Now your next 90 days report due is 8 January. If you leave Thailand BEFORE that date, your new 90-day counting starts on the day you arrive (10 January), you are NOT eligible to report on 8 January anymore.

If you leave Thailand on 8th January or later, you are supposed to report your 90 days as of 8 Jan within 15 days before until 7 days after.

And 90-day reporting windows are:

- At the local immigration office in person: 15 days before until 7 days after the due date

- Online: from 15 days in advance until the due date

- By legacy mail (EMS from Thailand Post): post stamped at least 15 days before the due date

Hi Ellie... Thank you very much for your fast reply. As you describe the situation, it's much more clear to me. Since I'm departing Thailand for Singapore on January 7, I would not be in the country beyond 90-days (89 days). So it would appear I'm in good shape with my travel schedule setup as I have it (sort of a coincidence regarding the dates I selected; it wasn't by design!). Thanks again!

Do remember to check with your local immigration office to see if they want you to refile a TM30 on return from abroad.
