Sorry in advance for my ignorance. I have been to Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ about 8 times over the years and I never heard about the TM 30. I’m guessing they are keeping closer tabs due to Covid, contact tracing etc?

So my question is, do I need to get 3 separate TM 30’s from my rental manager since my wife and daughter also need extensions and eventually β€œO” visas OR is one TM 30 for the family sufficient? I’m assuming [which I should never do] that all 3 of our names should be listed if it is a single TM 30 for the 3 of us?

Thank you for your help and your valuable time. Have a wonderful day and stay safe and healthy !!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM 30 is a form required by Thai immigration to report the residence of foreign nationals. For families, one TM 30 can suffice if all names are listed, but it's recommended to obtain separate TM 30s for each family member, particularly if using the paper system. If the landlord uses an online system, it is advisable to print multiple copies for each family member. Each receipt should be kept in the passport as proof of registration.

Dose the landlord or owner have to register. Can I do it myself like a change of address . Owner of my new address is back in England for at least 12 months

maybe ask your landlord to do online from UK?

The landlord can not do it online from the UK. The online system looks for a Thai Internet address. If it doesn't have a Thai internet access, it won't allow access.

I don't know. You'd have to ask the immigration office f they would let you self file, or what the process is.

Or do it online and just have the land lord take screen shots of the entries AFTER they have saved the data πŸ™‚

Sometimes they will write multiple names from the same family on one TM30 receipt (which you then copy and put in each persons passport) in fact the TM30 form is designed for multiple people to be listed on it.

They'll give you back the bottom of the first page as the receipt you put in your passport

There's not a lot of room to have everyone's name on that receipt though so what I'd do is fill out THREE of that first form so each person as a receipt with their name on it

The way you fill out that bottom part of the TM30 is like this

The TM30 system has been implemented for a very long time, since I think the 1980's.

>is one TM 30 for the family sufficient

There are three accepted formats for a TM30. IF the owner is using an online system (the middle and bottom format), then your names would be listed. Just print out three copies (or how many people are in your family), and keep it in the passport. IF the property owner is using the paper system, then each person would get their own receipt.
