Hi everyone 👋

I’m a Filipina currently in Philippine and I recently applied for a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) through an agent. I already submitted all my personal requirements and my application was accepted for review.

I don’t have an active job at the moment and my stay is fully sponsored by my long-term American partner (retired).

The agent recently requested additional documents such as:

• Proof of relationship

• Sponsor’s bank statements

• Financial support explanation

I’d like to ask if anyone here had a similar situation (sponsored stay / no active employment) and:

• Was your DTV approved or denied?

• How long did your process take?

• Any advice or reassurance you can share?

I really appreciate any insights. Thank you 🙏

I understand this is difficult but to get the right advice the group will need more information from you.

Which of the categories are you applying for the DTV visa under?

Digital Nomads: Freelancers, remote workers, and online entrepreneurs who work over the internet for foreign employers or clients.

Thai Soft Power Activity Participants: Those enrolled in certain Thai cultural activities long-term including Muay Thai classes and cooking courses.

Long-Term Medical Care Patients: Patients undergoing long-term care at Thai medical facilities and hospitals.

Dependents of Existing DTV Holders: Legal dependents including children under 20 and spouses of current DTV holders.

thanks for the reply. Let me tell you what I would do.

I would contact the hospital that you have chosen for your care. They will put together a treatment plan for you.

With regards to the financial requirements I am assuming that your American partner is proving that for you. Normally that will be in a bank account in your name. The Thai consulate appear to be asking for proof of your relationship. As other have said this could be photos, maybe shared rental contracts, downloads from the messaging app you use to communicate.

I'm pretty sure you have to be legally married as the dependent category lists: spouse and/or children of DTV holder

This sounds like the CFO nonsense Philippine immigration imposed on its own people to leave Philippines 3 years ago.

Not direct experience of this however I have supplied bank statements, copies as photos when applying for different visas into Thailand. In addition your partner can supply an email as an invitation plus information on where you will stay, also taking responsibility for you. It is better if you have your own funding but obviously you won’t use it if your partner is going to support you. Good luck I hope this helps

Also you can't apply for a DTV when you are inside Thailand. You need to travel to a location served by the consulate you will apply through and remain there until the process completes

Are you actually married? If so show your marriage certificate. If not you can try to explain but I'm not sure that will be acceptable.
