Thailand Destination Visa (DTV) approved in two working days.

• Applied Wednesday at 4:00 PM

• Approved Friday at 7:20 PM

• Application submitted in Ho Chi Minh City

• Applicant: Canadian, applying as a company employee *(*my *own S*aaS *company)*

The key was submitting well-structured, clearly indexed document packages. Everything was organized in strict page order with a glossary for fast review.

Documents Submitted

1. Current Location Package (Vietnam)

• Cover letter

• Glossary of documents

• Valid Vietnam visa

• Passport entry stamp

• Flight ticket and full itinerary

• Accommodation booking showing temporary address

• Location photo evidence

• Matching dated receipt for verification

2. Financial Package

• Cover letter and glossary

• Most recent balance confirmation

• Monthly paystubs (July–December)

• Corresponding multi-month bank statements

• Annual employment income summary T4

• Prior 2024 year Canadian tax return

3. Employment & Portfolio Package

• Cover letter and glossary

• Canadian company profile

• Full-time employment contract

• Remote work authorization letter

• Company registration documents

• Funding and financial backing materials

• Startup program acceptance letters

• Selected professional work portfolio

• Resume

Everything was designed to be self-explanatory, easy to verify, and consistent across packages.

If you are preparing a DTV application, organization and clarity matter just as much as eligibility.
Answer summary
The Thailand Destination Visa (DTV) can be approved in as little as two working days when the application is well-organized and documents are clearly indexed. A recent applicant, a Canadian company employee, shared their experience of obtaining approval within this timeframe after submitting a comprehensive and structured document package comprising three main categories: Current Location, Financial, and Employment & Portfolio Packages. Important tips include highlighting the necessity of clarity and organization in the submission to facilitate quick processing. Community comments also emphasize the importance of providing detailed documentation to avoid requests for additional information.

By the way what did you show on selected work portfolio examples?

OP
Anonymous participant 109 I gave four pages of screenshots from my portfolio of previous jobs. I worked as an actor for a few different TV shows and have a YouTube channel with around 1m subs. I’ve seen them ask for photo evidence from previous jobs so that worked out quite well for me.

yeah that part can be tricky for some jobs.

I believe you because you sent them the whole thing and more. I had an issue where I just sent what they ask in the webpage and then they asked me so much more. Like some of the things you gave. Also agree on making it pretty and well organized, be careful with your photo etc.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

What you put in, is what you get out with these applications just keep them clear & precise, avoiding too much waffle, bearing in mind they have hundreds to get though each month.

Good job, pro application , fast approval

What was the verbiage of your remote work letter? Did it specifically say “can work in Thailand?” Or was it a generic explanation?

OP
Since this is my own corporation I had it written by my CTO (I'm CEO). And I explicitly named Thailand. It was not generic. Below is the exact structure and wording style I used, with identifying details removed. This is essentially what the visa officer saw. Remote Work Authorization Letter

Date: DD/MM/YYY

To the Royal Thai Embassy / Consulate / Visa Officer,

I am writing on behalf of a Canadian software company incorporated and operating in Canada. I confirm that the applicant is engaged full-time with our company and is authorized to perform all of their duties remotely while residing in Thailand.

The applicant’s work is conducted for our company and for foreign clients and partners outside of Thailand. Their role includes software development, technical leadership, and work on proprietary technology products.

Our company operates as a remote-first organization. The applicant is not required to be physically present in Canada to perform their job duties. We explicitly approve and support the applicant working from Thailand, and they will continue to be paid from Canada under normal payroll arrangements.

This letter is provided to support the applicant’s visa application and to confirm that their employment can be fully performed from Thailand without interruption.

Sincerely,

Authorized Company Director / Officer

Congrats. Going through it right now. They asked for extra info. If they needed all of that from the start, they should just list it.

I didn't make an appendix as I thought it would just fill everything up even more.

Anonymous participant I have now supplied many pages. Didn't count them. I started the Managing Director role 2 months ago in a company I m an investor/shareholder in and I own 3 other companies. I don't know what is this? Just a doc to proof remote work or tax inspection. Lol.

At minimum it seems they want to see 6 months bank statements, paystubs & two years tax statements. I submitted a total of 71 pages across the three PDFs.
