What are the fund requirements and entry date considerations for applying for a DTV from the UK?

Hi everyone, this group has been super helpful with getting information since I've been looking at getting my DTV so thank you all for your posts. I had a couple of questions. If anyone has answers to them, that would be great.
I'm looking to apply for my DTV from the UK, which means it would be going through their London Embassy. I was curious as to whether they require funds to be in my account for three months, like some other places do. My understanding is that it is 10 or 12 days, which is what I'm hoping it is as I do have more than enough funds but across multiple accounts and I would need to consolidate them into one account before applying.
My second question is in regards to the application asking about the date I'm hoping to enter the country. To be completely honest I'm not sure on that date yet and I was wondering if it causes a problem if once approved I decide to travel on a different date than the one stated on the application?

Yeah, ten days seems to be enough for the bank in the UK. Don't put an entry date more than 90 days away. That's what they recommend. Remember, you'll need your police clearance certificate now, which is up to 30 days, I think, and £70.
