Question related to future retirement when LOS is ‘somewhat’ back to normal.
I keep getting contradictory advise about extending an O visa.
I understand that the ‘initial’ O visa unlike the OA, is a 3 month single entry, no background criminal and health checks with no requirement for health insurance.
My question - Is medical insurance required when applying for an O visa extension? If yes, what else is required (apart from 800k in the bank) when extending?
TLDR : Answer Summary
When extending a Non-O visa in Thailand, medical insurance is currently not required. Prior to Covid, no insurance was needed for extensions. However, for entry into Thailand, a Covid insurance policy of $100,000 is necessary. For an extension based on retirement, proof of 800,000 THB in a bank account is required, while for marriage-based extensions, only 400,000 THB is necessary. Note that specific requirements may vary by location.
