What are the recent changes in banking requirements at Kasikorn Bank in Thailand?
Not visa related,but topical with bank changes.
Just some info about one of the new bank changes.
I went to Kasikorn bank today for a new passbook, with my old one being full.
After the usual personal questions, they asked for my Tax ref number which has never been asked for before.
I looked through my e.mails on my phone, knowing I had some correspondence with it.
After what seemed like forever I could not find it, and my new passbook was declined.
On returning home I looked again and ( Sods Law) I found it within a couple of minutes, so it is another trip to the bank.

USA requires Thai banks to generate 1099's for US citizens. Have no idea about other countries

Home tax number? Is that a Thai tax number or one from your originating country? ie Australia, UK?

I was asked for my home tax number many years ago by my SCB bank. There is nothing unusual with it.

I've never been asked for a tax number for either home country or Thailand for any of my 2 Thai bank accounts and I updated stuff only last year.

The bank normally asks for your home tax number. Went to update our new address recently and had to provide our home Tax id.

My stepson went with me to kasikorn bank last month ,I opened a savings account (at his suggestion) with just my pink id card ,not a problem they didn't even ask for my passport ,a mistake on their part ? Who knows,😀
