Ironically, businesses are crying for workers here. There's no reason to be here on visa exempts/ "ED visas" if a person wants to stay here.

A volunteer visa shouldn't cost anything for you (or potentially a small amount for living). Maybe you can reach out to the Chamber of Commerce of France, see what they say?

Getting a job in Thailand is easy, and businesses are crying for qualified workers here - especially in the factories and manufacturing businesses. I imagine it should take a month (or less) before you get hired here.

Getting a volunteer visa should be easy as well. Reach out to volunteer organizations, and they may be able to set something up for you. Should be easy since you're in CM.

1. I'm not sure what a "TV" visa is. If this is a tourist visa, I doubt Laos will issue them. I have heard reports of Laos issues Transit Visas instead. These are 30 day visas that can't be extended that basically tells a person to get their stuff and leave Thailand. So it might be a possibility.

2. She wasn't let back in, to my knowledge. She's in Vietnam, I think.

3. I doubt the embassy asked for proof of funds. It sounds like they just flipped through her passport, saw all the visas, and told her to leave.

4. Getting an ED visa won't work, they are cracking down on that.

5. Getting a Non-B visa *MAY* work, if she's willing to start a business. The easiest way to start a business for an American is through the Treaty of Amity, which allows full ownership. If she's not an American, that might not happen :\

Not going to work. They know she's gaming the system and will deny it. Unless she becomes a teacher. This is the hiring season for government schools, and she should be able to find a job easily

Sarah Meyran thats an old trick no longer good. Thai Immigration uses facial recognition software and fingerprints to track all our entries and exits. And old and new passports are linked together. They know who you are....best you plan on living and working elsewhere. Unless you wish to get a legal job with work permit or buy the Thai Elite Visa 500,000 Thai baht gives you 5 Years stay in Thailand. But cannot work with it.

The biggest myth is that Thailand has become uniquely difficult on visas, and everywhere else is easy and welcoming. Yes, the Philippines is ridiculously easy. So is Cambodia. But would you actually prefer to live there? If you explore the visa regulations in a lot of these other countries, to live there full time (not to mention work) it’s no walk in the park. Plenty of time and expense involved, and hoops to jump through.

To be fair, living and working in Thailand is pretty easy. Try working in the USA Aus or UK on a tourist visa for the same amount of time. Not so easy.

Best bet is to go to Vientiane, make sure you have bank statements with a few thousand dollar or equivalent in thb, a flight ticket out of the country, you are dressed properly and don't look like a back paper plus all the other usual documents. If you don't get a 60 day tourist visa there then ask around outside the gate for a transit visa. There should be some Lao guy who can get you a 30 day transit visa. There was another post some days ago here with more details about the transit visa.

not really. What we are seeing and hearing IF one has a history of entries and use of various visas to live and work in Thailand... they are being DENIED new visas...and questioned at at entry. Times are changing.

It actually would make a difference to spend a month outside of the country. A big difference compared to 1 week or less.

Vietnam is a marvelous country. Enjoy it until January 2020 when you could possibly cross by a land border into Thailand. But choose the border crossing carefully.

do not waste your time going to Laos. Most likely would get refused a Tourist Visa.

Likewise flying into Thailand a significant risk IMHO. With your history I suspect you will be denied entry at airport.

If you picked up a visa in Laos before coming back to Thailand, then yes. I'm assuming here you're from a country that makes you eligible for the 30 day visa exemption
