I am having Work permit and Valid non Immigrant visa till December 2018. I am looking for processing my wife's dependent type O Visa.
The process is taking a lot of time, is there any other work around for her visa, she intend to stay here for 5 to 6 months only probably till September.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat seeks advice on processing a dependent type O visa for his wife while he holds a work permit and valid non-Immigrant visa. The process is slow, and he considers alternatives for his wife's short stay in Thailand (5-6 months). Suggestions from the community include applying for a tourist visa for her to enter Thailand and potentially converting it to a Non-O visa at a local immigration office.

Thank you all for the guidance. I think I will wait for a week more, else I will ask her to come here on Tourist Visa and process it via options and methods suggested.
I am sure your co. HR is too lazy. Get her on 60 days Visa here IN BKK and then go with paperwork to local immigration. You might take help of some agents as well that might get a bit costly but hassle free and believe me it's easy peasy. Good luck
Okay, I was informed by my company's Visa processing team, they would not be able to convert the tourist visa to dependent visa with multiple entries till the time my visa is valid, hence I was under impression to process her dependent visa she have to travel with her single entry type O Visa and later get visa extension and multiple entries as well.
she could probably get a single entry tourist visa come in, get stamped in for 60 days and then convert to a 90 day Non-O inside the country at the BOI immigration office.
It shouldn't take a lot of time :/ You supply the documentation from your company stating it's okay she gets a Non-O visa because she's married to someone who legally works here. You supply copies of your passport, your Non_B visa/extension, work permit, contract from the company, etc and they should issue her a 90 day single entry Non-Immigrant type O visa.
