I volunteer in Thailand with a foundation that teaches English. Some of my friends want to come and join but when they applied for the non immigrant o visa they’ve been told the policy changed 2 days ago and now they require a letter from the Thai government not the foundation chairman. Does anyone know if this is a new change or have any tips on how to get this letter.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Thailand mentions recent changes in the application process for a Non-Immigrant O visa for volunteers. Previously, a letter from the foundation chairman was sufficient, but now applicants are reportedly required to obtain a letter from the Thai government. Comments suggest that while the foundation can help acquire this letter, different embassies may have varying requirements.
They need a letter affirming the foundation is legitimate. Different embassies have different requirements, but the Thai Embassy in Hanoi has required that for years.
