Do I need to submit both acceptance letters for a Non-O visa if I'm volunteering in Thailand?

Hi, I want to apply for non immigrant o visa for volunteering in KL. I heard they're very strict with the documents and you have to make sure you submit everything stated on the checklist.

The checklist says:

"5. Letter of acceptance/ confirmation of the applicant’s place from the course/program provider (e.g. university, college, school, institution etc.) in Thailand.

6. Original letter of invitation or acceptance from the concerned foundations/ organizations or institutes with business registration or business license."

Am I correct to interpret that you have to submit number 5 only if your internship is in connection with your university enrollment and you don't have to submit it if you're no longer affiliated with any educational institution?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks clarification on the requirements for a Non-O visa for volunteering in Thailand, specifically whether both an acceptance letter from a course provider and a letter of invitation from the volunteering organization are needed. Commenters suggest that both letters may be required depending on the affiliation with an educational institution, while providing additional insights on the visa process, including the necessity of a work permit for volunteers and the procedure for extending the visa after its initial 90-day validity.

Volunteers go to the same window at Immigration as students. After one year you need to go out and get a new visa, bringing your work permit with you.

I would say the acceptance letter stated in numbers 5 and 6 are essentially the same, except if perhaps the institution was affiliated with a university or other body, and thus you would need letters from both.

You will also need a work permit stating you are a volunteer which you can get from The Ministry of Labour. The Non-O visa will only allow you to be in Thailand for 90 days. At the end of that period you will have to go to Immigration with a stack of paperwork from the foundation and photos of you working with them, and most importantly with the foundation director in front of the foundation's sign, plus a letter requesting an extension, and a map showing the location of the foundation, abd 1,900฿. They will then give you a stamp for 30 days while they consider your application. At the end of 30 days you go back and get a stamp for 60 days, then repeat the process. Your passport will fill up quickly.

@Kri***
, you did read that
@Ste****
, said you'd need that at the immigration office inside thailand to get an extension of stay based on volunteering. NOT what you need at the thai consulate to get your initial Non-O visa..

Some offices are more hard core than others, so it's not cut in stone as far as what you need to get your extension..

As far as that work permit, you can just use the WP3 document that shows your employer has applied for a work permit for you for the documentation at the consulate.

Wow that's extreme. Since when have they been requiring these photos etc? It's my fourth time to apply for non o (now for a new organization) and they never asked me that)
