I'm wondering has anyone had the experience of getting the Non-immigrant O visa (Not Retirement) while *already in* Thailand?
I always thought you had to be in your home country and apply for this through the online e-visa, but I recently saw something online which suggested it could be applied for while in Thailand. I was trying to look it up online but couldnt find any decent sources or else just info from years ago which is possibly out of date.
I'll be volunteering with an organisation I've spent time with already and they will be able to sort out all the paperwork needed etc.
If anyone knows if this is possible I'd appreciate it if you could share your experience with me. I'm currently at home at the minute so when I go back to Thailand I'll enter either on a tourist visa or the visa exemption.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the possibility of obtaining a Non-immigrant O visa while already in Thailand, particularly for individuals volunteering with an organization. It highlights that the ability to apply for this visa locally depends on the sponsoring organization and local Thai immigration policies. Some comments indicate that it is indeed feasible to apply for the Non-O visa within Thailand if the organization provides the necessary documentation. The visa can also be obtained from a Thai embassy in one's home country or in a neighboring Southeast Asian country.
