I have heard conflicting information regarding the one year non-O multiple entry visa for volunteers and would like help clearing it up (all of these scenarios assume you have the proper paperwork and meet the requirements)
- Some say that with new regulations this year, Thai embassies around the world have quit granting 1 year non-O visas, and that you can now only apply for that in Thailand?
- Others have said that you can apply for the 1 year non-O outside of Thailand, but only at the Thai embassy in your passport country.
- And finally, I have also heard that there are several Thai embassies around the world that still give 1 year non-O visas, but it just depends on the country.
Could anyone clear this up for me? Thank you so much for your help and time!
TLDR : Answer Summary
There are conflicting reports about the availability of the one year non-O multiple entry visa for volunteers. Some sources indicate that new regulations have halted the issuance of this visa at Thai embassies globally, requiring applicants to obtain it only in Thailand. Other accounts suggest that it may still be obtainable at the Thai embassy in your home country. Furthermore, some embassies might still grant this visa depending on the country in question. Clarification is needed regarding the current policies and procedures.
