Hello, I am a US citizen applying for a non-o "volunteer" visa. Does anyone have experience receiving one in Penang?
I would prefer to go there over Laos. I understand some embassies are stricter than others. I ask because the only non-o application form from Penang embassy I can find is non-o, based on "dependent", not "volunteer". Thanks for your help!
TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen seeking a non-o "volunteer" visa is inquiring about the application process at the Thai consulate in Penang. They mention challenges in finding the specific application form for a volunteer visa, as they have only located one for a dependent visa. Commenters suggest that requirements for the non-o volunteer visa at the Penang consulate are likely similar to those of the consulate in Kuala Lumpur. It is highlighted that the organization the individual plans to volunteer for should provide the necessary documentation for the visa, and it is noted that a special work permit might be required for such volunteering.
