Any suggestions, if I’m over 50 applying from the USA. My plan is to dedicate one year of study to Thai language upon arrival. Does it make sense to get an education visa and transfer it to an O visa once I arrive? this way I can get my own insurance. Or does it make more sense to just get the O-A from USA. Thanks for the help.
TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are over 50 and planning to move to Thailand from the USA, it's advised to apply for a Non-O visa rather than an Education visa. The Non-O visa has fewer requirements and can be obtained without needing insurance. An Education visa is not a feasible option for those over 50, and recent scrutiny may complicate its approval. Moving forward with the Non-O visa allows for straightforward requirements, including proof of funds.
