Any here recommend a LEGAL way to extend a stay in Thailand another 7 days past the expiration of a visa exemption that was already extended? (Because japan announced re-opening on October 11 and that is annoyingly a little after the date on the Thai stamp in the passport)

Thanks in advance for good recommendations on how to do that!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To legally extend your stay in Thailand for an additional 7 days past the expiration of a visa exemption, you can visit your local immigration office to obtain a denial of extension stamp. This process will grant you a 7-day grace period to leave the country, at a cost of 1,900 THB. Alternatively, you can also opt to briefly travel to a nearby country, such as Singapore, for a week before returning.

Bonnie has a great point.. Go take a trip to a neighborhood country and go to Japan for them.

Yes.. Exactly 7 days only. Just go to local immigration office. Basically it's a denial of extention stamp that gives you 7 days to get out of the country. Cost is 1900b. Bring same document you used to extend first time.. Should have no problem.

just know if you decide to try this, the 7 days starts the day you apply, it doesn't get added to the end of your current days. Also the office doesn't have to accept your application. They could just say no, leave now.

Fly to Singapore and stay there for a week first
