Will my OA retirement visa be honored upon returning to Thailand without health insurance?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I hold an OA retirement visa that was issued in August 2018, and renewed until August 2020 by leaving and returning on a multiple reentry endorsement. I will be leaving Thailand soon and hope to return in March 2020. I don't have the health insurance now required for a new OA visa. Question: when I arrive back in Thailand, will they deny entry or honor the original Visa renewal expiring August 2020? Question 2: is there a list of approved health insurance companies to satisfy Thai immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual with an OA retirement visa expiring in August 2020 is concerned about returning to Thailand without the required health insurance. Community responses suggest that while the situation regarding insurance for pre-October 31 O-A visas may lack consistency, entry is likely not to be denied if the visa was renewed with a re-entry permit. It is advised to assert this if questioned at immigration, and there are resources listing approved health insurance companies available.

If you are on a re-entry permit you should be okay. You may need to remind the IO that you don't need insurance if that doesn't work you may have to ask to speak to his/her superior for clarification.

My understanding is that the situation was further clarified to IOs on the 7th of November but it appears that not everyone on the front lines "got the memo".

At the end of the day you just have to roll the dice.

If necessary ask for a 30 day stamp then get it cleared up at your immigration office. I've heard of Bangkok rectifying stamps like this recently.

Well I’ll soon find out , I’m returning to Thailand on Monday morning . On a O-A extension ( my 4th ) .. I obtained my extension on the 4th October , and got a multi entry .... no health insurance .. fingers crossed 🤞🏼.

There is still no consistency as far as IF O-A visas gotten before the 31st of Oct are required to show insurance when entering on them.

It's gonna take a while more (mostly because there's not a lot of people on O-A visas) before we find out exactly how they're going to handle it.
