What are the experiences of expats in Thailand with different banks for visa-related financial services?

Not sure which letter you are talking about. If it is an account certification letter I find BBL Hua Hin are happy to provide when requested. If it is a letter detailing deposits they no longer provide because it is not necessary as immigration require 12 months bank statements showing International Transfers. I download the statements via BBL App and additionally have Credit Advice for each transfer emailed by BBL to me. So far no problems, been doing it for 9 years.

Never had a problem at Kbank. Been with them 10 years. Immigration letter and statement straight away

Exactly same. Bangkok Bank would not give me what I needed. Immigration officer suggested I use kasikorn for 12 months then I can get the 800,000 out

How did u make the switch after your extension? A one time 800k transfer on the same day or 2 separate 400k transfer 3mths after your extension?

Bkk seems to be a bit weird now. It really seems to depend on which branch you go to.

For me I just went through just last month the entire year end process (statements bank letters etc) in 20 minutes.

I just sat there on the other side of the desk while the teller did all the letters etc and at the end he gave it all to me in an envelope accompanied with a smile.

The only thing was my bank account is fixed maybe that makes a difference.

How do you check your balances without going into the bank or using an ATM? I was advised not to use an app as they are not trustworthy, too many scams? I use K bank

I opened my 400k account with Krungsri, no issues, walked into a branch, got statement and letter in 5 minutes❤️

I’m having problems with bkk even after being with them for 8 years

I used Bangkok bank for years to hold my 800k for the non-o retirement. All was fine when I was in Bangkok using the head office Silom branch. Once I moved south, it was a different ballgame. Uncooperative staff, unwilling bank managers, needless restrictions, unable to move the account to a local branch, without going back to Bangkok. Every request taking days... eventually moved everything to SCB, found them to be the most helpful bank on the island I now live on in Krabi. Their banking app is far more advanced, so no need for cards, with QR code scan and pay, a working prompt pay and cardless atm withdrawals. Helpful staff, correct letters etc for immigration. A world of difference.

I also switched from Bkk but to Krungsri bank with a simular experience
