Do I have to go to the bank and get them to print them or are statements I get emailed to me and print myself acceptable?
Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
For visa renewal in Thailand, you generally need official bank statements with a bank stamp. Emailed statements or downloaded printouts from your banking app are usually not accepted. It's recommended to obtain a standard bank letter and a transaction detail report directly from the bank, ensuring they print it on their official stationery. To avoid issues, visit your immigration office beforehand to confirm their requirements.

Also don’t forget to update your bank book on the day and take a copy.

Follow the advise of the immigration office and do not challenge it. It is clear and nothing else.

you need to get the "standard bank letter" issued by them AND you need to order the year transaction detail report
MOST offices will not take the emailed downloaded from the app print out. They want the ones the bank prints (on that paper with the perforated edges 😮 ) and the bank stamp
I would certainly GO to your immigration office well before you want the extension and ask an officer IF those downloaded/emailed print outs of your own would work because some banks take 3-5 days to get that for you
