I'm wondering since many of you are on various types of visas. Are any of you with Cigna for medical insurance (because the do international cover) and how is your experience with them?

Thanks!

Several comments highlight Cigna's reputation, noting their exclusion of pre-existing conditions and varying costs based on age and health factors. Cigna Global Health plan was very good to work with. Covered an unexpected major surgery last year, 100%, at a private hospital in Bangkok. Billed and paid directly with the hospital.

Cigna are one of our carriers and very good, however not the only one with international coverage.

I think Cigna's is now the largest insurance company in the world. I looked extensively at their plans, and like all health insurance, bracketed by age and plan benefits offered . they will exclude, as all do here, for pre- existing conditions and may require a surcharge for things like being overweight.

again, I'm talking about Cigna plans on offer to expats living here. they are not cheap, but are a top notch company and recognized by most thai hospitals.
