TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around expat experiences traveling back to Thailand from the UK on STV and Non-O visas, highlighting challenges with communication from the Thai Long Stay company and the necessity of dealing directly with the Thai embassy in London. Users have shared various experiences, including successful trips with Non-O visas. The STV is currently unavailable for UK citizens, and specific conditions apply for entry based on visa types related to marriage or family connections.

Yes I came back end of July on non O. I also have a mate with a non O who came back recently for the 2nd time and his CoE was issued within 24 hours from London consulate
I have talked to several agencies they have shown me that immigration is only allowing
OA and OX i’m hoping they change when they reopen the country for tourists. I have always had a non-immigrant O visa and I have one that is good until Aug

Non O’s are given for a variety of reasons. Thai spouse/child, retirement, guardian, volunteer and a few others. Thai spouse or family or guardian is allowed the others aren’t.

Yes that’s correct. No info on when or if they will open up to Non O for retirement.

Hi Baz I too am in the uk and wanting to get back to thailand. I had to return at the beginning of July because of family commitments. My husband is British and is on a contract in thailand so I am desperate to return but as from last weekend anyone from the U.K. will not be allowed into thailand as we are classed as high risk. You can go on a list and when we move off the high risk category you will be informed. That’s the info from Thai embassy in London and I tried the long stay company Thailand as well. Looks like a lonely Christmas for me and a long wait ! Good luck !
I registered on the Thai long stay company, there is a charge but then they take care of all the paperwork, you just need to sort insurance etc out. They will then tell you when we come off high risk category they said and move everything on. Good luck. Abs yes definitely hoping for a window of opportunity to !
thanks lynn for your reply, looks like were in the same boat.
it'll be lonely this xmas (sounds like a record lol )for both of us and many others
good luck to you too

What is a Non O visa

Oh right we want to get over our second grandchild was born last Friday .Our daughter is married to a Thai .But Thai embassy say No at the moment heartbreaking
great question. The the non part of the name is short for non immigrant. So it doesn't give you any immigrant rights like residency or citizenship.
The O part stands for other. So it is not a tourist, business or education visa. The O covers a long list of situations the main ones are marriage, having or being a dependent, retirement, and volunteering.

STV not available from U.K.
I am using Siam Legal International lawyers to obtain O/A visa. Costs 5000 thb to set up
yes, I have been in contact with London embassy but no response now . Even email not in use anymore. I have everything apart from my doctors letter which I receive tomorrow. Save yourself hassle and use Siam legal. I will use them when I marry early next year! Ive wasted months with embassy 🙄
