Hello.
Does anyone heave any recent experience applying for a STV in a country adjacent to Thailand?
I live and work in Bangkok but would like to quit my job and take a few months as a tourist before making my next step. It seems
that STV makes most sense (?) cos I already have accommodation here and am not sure how long I want to stay....but on the website for Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh the advice seems to be specific to Cambodian nationals (and I am from the UK). I could not find anything on Thai Embassy website for Laos.
1. So if anyone knows if they are issuing STVs from these embassies i would appreciate your input.
1. And if there are any special requirements above and beyond the current Covid related hoops to jump through? For example, did you have to show proof of onward travel?
Thanks.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a Special Tourist Visa (STV) at Thai embassies in Cambodia or Laos, expressing concern about completing the process successfully while being a UK citizen. They mention difficulty finding relevant information on the Thai Embassy websites in those countries and inquire about additional Covid-related requirements for the STV, including proof of onward travel. One comment suggests that applying for the STV may not be possible outside the applicant's home country.
