Just received my tourist visa extension due to COVID at Koh Samui immigration office. I’m a US citizen and had the letter from the embassy with my name, DOB, and passport number on it (required).
I was granted a 15-day extension. I already used my 30-day extension at the beginning of this month (expires March 31), so this does not apply to regular extensions.
3 copies were required of the extension application (receive at immigration office), passport pages (info page + stamp page with departure card), letter from embassy, Thai house contract. There were 2 other COVID extension forms they also required me to fill out on-site.
I arrived at 9:45am and was number 186 in line. By 1:30pm my number was called for paperwork review. That’s when I was informed I needed 3 copies of everything and was given extra papers to sign, so they allowed me to step to the side to complete the forms and make more copies without losing my place in line. By 3:15pm I was allowed to submit all my paperwork and it was finished by 4:30pm.
Cost was 2000baht.
Thank you to everyone who has posted your updates during this crazy time! Hope this helps someone.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen detailed their experience obtaining a 15-day tourist visa extension due to COVID-19 at the Koh Samui immigration office. To qualify, they submitted a letter from the embassy, a Thai house contract, and multiple forms and copies. The process took several hours, with the total cost being 2000 baht. They emphasized the importance of preparing required documents in advance to avoid delays.
Let's close it down, people keep on asking the same question. Read the answers and as every application for Extension of Stay the period you get is NO MORE THEN ... DAYS.
That means any period between 1 day and the maximum amount depending on visa used.
they can go back to the immigration office and see if they will give the other 15 days or not. That's how "under consideration' stamps work. You get a period that's under consideration (which is actually the first part of your extension) then you go back on that date and they can give the rest of the days you applied for (in this case another 2 weeks)
Thanks for the info, when is the soonest you can come back to try to get your next 2 weeks after you get under consideration stamp? I don't imagine you can come the next day to add the next 2 weeks.
LOOK at the stamp, it is an under consideration stamp SO when they go back on that date to the immigration office more time could be added (at no charge) IF they want to and if it's needed.
